Application Framework overview page — 43 configuration questions, 4 models, 1 UX app, generation status showing last generated Jan 28 2026 with warnings
Application Framework overview after generation — 43 configuration questions answered, 4 models generated; the activity log shows generation events with any warnings; review logs immediately after generation to catch misconfigured questions before proceeding
IFP Financial Planning model — Source models tab showing CapEx and Headcount spoke models mapped to the hub
Source model mapping — after generation, map the CapEx and Headcount spoke models to your copy of the FP hub so data can flow between them. This step is required before running demos.
ℹ Starting Point

Begin with a fresh workspace or re-run the Application Framework from scratch. Do not extend Lab A's workspace.

Lab Steps

  1. Configure Top-Level questions — same as Lab A, plus Geography (2 levels), CapEx Option A
  2. Hierarchy Configuration — add Geography (2 levels, name: 'Geography')
  3. FP questions — same as Lab A, plus Balance Sheet: Yes, Cash Flow: Yes
  4. CE questions — multi-currency: Yes, IS list: default, BS list: default
  5. Generate and review logs
  6. Post-generation — complete all required tasks including CapEx General Admin setup
  7. CapEx General Admin — set entity-to-dept mapping, asset types, depreciation accounts, CWIP account, FX rate type
  8. Run FIN – Import from CapEx Model
  9. FIN – BS – Manage Planning Methods — assign a method to every BS account
  10. FIN – BS – Manage Cash Offset Accounts — categorize every BS account's cash impact
  11. FIN – BS – Cash Flow Mappings — map every leaf-level BS account to a CF line
  12. Run the Balancing Routine — confirm BS balances
⚠ CapEx Dimension Constraint

CapEx in v2.0 is planned at Entity level ONLY — no Department, Geography, or other dimensions. The entity-to-department mapping in CapEx General Admin handles distribution of depreciation costs to the correct P&L dimensions.

Debrief Questions

  1. What is the purpose of the Cash Offset Accounts mapping? What happens if an account is missing?
  2. Why does the Balancing Routine run month-by-month sequentially rather than all at once?
  3. If a customer wants to track CapEx by department, what are their options?
  4. When would you choose Geography at 3 levels vs. 2 levels?
  5. What is the difference between a Direct Load and a Transformation Load in ADO?
💡 Full 3-Statement Validation

After completing Lab B, check that the balance sheet balances by running the Balancing Routine, then navigate to Reporting & Analysis → Balance Sheet & Cash Flow Validations.
